Flash Fiction: Sister, Sister
Hell was finding the sepia family photos and medical documents on an outdated chip. It was finally understanding the persistent, viatic tugs on her heart, and why the sea terrified her. It was realising why she lived with her mother in a town that was like a pimple on God’s backside.
Issa didn’t know who or what she was, but one thing was clear. Her mother, who was unpacking groceries, had been her twin sister, Imani, 19 years ago.
